Career as Veterinary Technologist


People must not get confused with veterinary doctors and veterinary technologists. In detail Veterinary Technologists are the technicians who assist the veterinarian in treating sick animals. They mainly deal with conducting blood tests, developing x-ray and making tissue samples. They are responsible for the animals, which are kept under research laboratory settings. Their job profile also includes counselling to the pet owners and training the newly appointed technician.

Students can become a Veterinary Technologist by selecting veterinary technology program either of two year or four year program from any recognized institution. Before opting for the above course student must have completed pass their 12th standard examination with Biology and mathematics.

To have a good career growth as Veterinary Technologists, one should have good communication skills, good organization skills and listening skills.
