Museology and courses



We are providing few information collected from various sources about Museology, which will help and guide the students related to its courses and institutes offering such courses.


Students who completed  12th class can apply for Bachelor of Arts in Archeology and Museology. Admission to the course is carried out on the basis of the marks scored in qualifying exam.

Graduation in any of the arts stream required for the admission to M.A in Museology which  is  two-year course.
  • Banaras Hindu University
  • National Museum Institute of History of Art
  • Conservation and Museology
  • University of Rajasthan, etc offers this two-year course.

Admission is offered either on the basis of the marks scored in the qualifying examination or the score in the written test.

Few Postgraduate Diploma courses is available in
  • Museology
  • Museology and Conservation
  • Museology and History of Indian Arts

National Institute of History of Art Conservation and Museology, Calcutta University, etc offers admission to Ph.D program in Museology through written test. Master’s degree in Museology or other related subjects is the essential qualification for pursuing doctoral degree in Museology.
